Occupational First Aid Training

Who can attend:
 
No entry requirements and all are welcome, but please consult us as to suitability if you have a disability. (Leaving Certificate or equivalent standard is preferred, and/or relevant life/work experience.)

Who should attend: 
Any one interested in knowing how to preserve life, or minimising the consequences of injury to themselves or others, until medical assistance arrives. It is specifically intended for those who will be called on to provide treatment for injuries and to coordinate first aid arrangements in the workplace.Duration: 3 Days

Presenters: Delivered by H.S.A. and Irish Heart Foundation registered Instructors.

 

Details
The course comprehensively covers all aspects of First Aid, including cardiac first response treatment with AED equipment, so as to enable the participant to recognize and confidently deal with accident and health incidents. Theory and practical skills are presented in a very interactive, sympathetic and easy to learn manner.Participants are made to feel totally ‘at home’ and humour is always an ingredient of the courses. There is extensive role-play so that students can practice their diagnostic and treatment skills. Handouts of all presentations and of additional resources, as well as all necessary materials are provided.

Awards
The certificate awarded complies with current Health and Safety Legislation and is valid for two years. FETAC awarded Certificate of Achievement will also be issued to successful candidates in due course. A follow up refresher course of one day is recommended in order to keep your First Aid Certificate up to date (see below).

 

Occupational First Aid Refresher
(FETAC certified Module D20174)

Who should attend: Any one who has a First Aid Certificate for three years and wishes to keep it current.

Duration: 1 Day

Presenters: Delivered by H.S.A. and Irish Heart Foundation registered Instructors.

Details: This course will ensure that all First Aiders are kept up to date with First Aid procedures and principles and to allow the participant to practice dealing with various accident situations and health incidents.

Awards: The certificate awarded complies with current Health and Safety Legislation and keeps your First Aid Certificate valid for a further two years. FETAC awarded Certificate of Achievement will also be issued to successful candidates in due course (after auditing and approval of results).
