Construction Safe Pass Training

FAS safepass Course in safety awareness

Basic H&S qualification for all construction industry operatives which is mandatory for anyone entering a construction site for professional purposes. Must be presented in a native language of the person being trained so only those who have perfect English can be trained through a standard course. (We can also run courses through the Polish language.)

Duration: 1 Day

Presenters: Delivered by FAS-registered Instructors.

Details:This course is designed to ensure that all operators are trained to be fully safety conscious when visiting and/or when working on a construction site.

Awards:Each participant will receive a Daralinn certificate on successfully completing the course and subsequently a FAS safepass permit. This qualification must be renewed every 4 years in order to keep their permit valid.

Scaffolding (basic) 7 days for maximum of 12 persons

Details: These courses have been designed in order to provide the construction industry with personnel who are skilled in erecting or operating the item of equipment in question. The aim of this programme is to provide the trainees with the skills, knowledge and attitudes that will enable them to work in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with all Statutory Regulations.

Awards: Each participant on successfully completing the course will receive a FETAC certificate and a FAS licence. This qualification must be renewed every 4 years in order to remain valid.

CONSTRUCTION SAFETY for MANAGERS and SUPERVISORS

Who should attend: Managers and Supervisors who have responsibility for staff on a construction site (including staff who visit construction sites to carry out any type of work example, delivery of materials).

There is a maximum of 20 persons per course.

Duration: 8 evenings, 3 hours/evening, 1 evening/week, including an examination.

Presenters: Delivered by professionally qualified Occupational Health and Safety practitioners who have had practical construction safety experience.

Details: This programme provides participants with the necessary information as required by the Health and Safety legislation (2005 Act and applicable Regulations) to enable them to perform their supervisory duties. The course incorporates a project to be carried out by each participant in their individual workplaces and a written examination.
It will provide training in all essential areas, including the following:

  • Legislation
  • Electrical safety
  • Working at height
  • Site set-up
  • Demolition
  • Services
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Management
  • Documentation (including safety plans and statements)
  • Consultation with Staff
  • Plant and Machinery
  • Communication.

Training Objectives:

  • To know and understand current Health and Safety legislation and to recognize responsibilities under it;
  • To understand the role of all persons involved in the management of construction (including project manager, architect, engineer(s), project supervisor, safety officer(s) and site manager);
  • To understand the vital role of risk assessment, communication and good management in making the workplace safe;
  • To undertake an accident investigation and complete an accident report;
  • To understand the particular hazards of construction and the best-practice controls that are needed to maintain safe working environments.

Awards: Participants who successfully complete their workplace-based project and pass the written examination will be awarded a certificate which objectively demonstrates their competence in the management of construction site safety.
